GHQ Sikh infantry. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. Maybe I should have tried to dry-brush some buff on there to raise the detail on the models, but I want to get my legion of unpainted models finished.
This blog is all about microarmor wargaming in both 3mm and 6mm as well as other aspects of the wargaming and hobby surrounding the maneuver scales

Rapid Fire in 25mm
So I officially got back into the hobby today with a game of Rapid Fire at Richard Pullin's house. Fun time today absolutely and the best part is it gives me some good pics from the trenches.
I have played it a few times and (always with Richard) really enjoy it, but I have to admit I think the game could do a better job with the groundscale. However, it could be a 'me' issue because the models look like giants compared to microarmor.
Well enjoy the pictures!

Winter Soviet Infantry
So having returned home I really want to get the majority of my unpainted 6mm painted before July of which there are a lot of effort-intensive sets, including US Army Infantry and late-war Heer which the uniforms and equipment by design vary greatly.

Good Fight
This has been a pretty good solitaire match even if I have had to stretch it out over a couple weeks.

Returning to Monterrey
I have my 3mm Panzer Korps in tow and I hope to hell I didnt leave my buildings at home in Fremont or it is going to be three weeks of fighting over rolling hills and flat valleys.
Now, one thing I cannot seem to locate is a hobby store ala D&J Hobby so I have one way to spend some leisure time. If I can find a store with nominal modeling items I might craft some while I am in MTY.
Jagdpanzer Early War Project is on the slow burner right now so with all the leisure time I have on my hands I really should at least get the outline done.

An Update! He is alive!!
I have been temporarily assigned to Monterrey, Mexico and that has really put a lid on my blog, but not my wargaming! To wit, I brought my 3mm Panzer Korps kit with me and it has helped fill the void. I have been running another Panzer Korps solo game here in my hotel room; the staff I think are playing a game too when I am at work :-)
However, I do have some serious work to do on the Jagdpanzer early war supplement which I will be attending to immediately.

Panzer Korps in Monterrey!
As my relocation to Monterrey will necessarily leave me with lots of free time at night I am really looking forward to perfecting the paint technique for the nanoarmor scale. There's a great write-up in Vae Victis this month on Panzer Korps in 3mm and it is my hope to find a wargaming group in the area.

Pacificon 2012 Has Come And Gone
Pacificon 2012 has come and gone and we had a great time re-enacting the Goalpost landings. The outcome of the scenario was pretty consistent with the historical result. I'll post pics as soon as Eric shares them. I have to say that there were some great looking tables, but as always, nothing tops micro-armor.

The French Colonial Project
For the pair of Operation Goalpost scenarios I am running at Pacificon 2012 I am painting up some new Moroccans and some French Foreign Legion which will oppose the Allied Torch Landings. The minis themselves are Essex 1/300 and I used Vallejo and Polly paints. Painting really is an understated form of mental relaxation in terms of locking out all the noise and just isolating yourself with your thoughts.
I have done the primer and and first coat. Tomorrow night I will do a slight wash to raise detail and then finish the guns, flesh and gear, an even slighter wash and finally base them then give them a quick blast of glossy finish and voila.....French Colonials!!

Pacificon Almost Here
Can't wait for the Operation Goalpost scenarios at Pacificon. I need to paint my colonial French and have to consult my painting guides!

Panzer Korps Solo Scenario
As you can see from the green dots, I have identified 5/8 formations needed to achieve victory. With some decent luck on my right the Somuas are keeping an AFV and armored recce battalion from a flank attack to disrupt my info gathering.

Exciting News....
Repost From Last Night
Here is an update I meant to post last night. Not quite sure what happened.
Anyhoo...
As mentioned last night, I tried mixing in some smaller 6mm infantry with 3mm armor and I think it looks OK. This is the one rare time I would not use Adler infantry.

Taking Stock
SBGC this month was a giant flea market (i.e. A chance to buy other people's excess from their collections) and while I didn't end up running a game as planned I did pick up a decent collection of buildings and a three section city bridge replete with damaged twin for $25.
Almost no one will be surprised I was hawking the free table which had some very cool stuff including a box of 25+ resin 15mm AFVs. I snatched them up but then in a dream bubble I saw my wife giving me unapproving looks so I gave them to 2 people who are both trying to jumpstart their FoW collections and I was happy to help them. I also passed on 15mm Crimean War and Mexican-American sets. Willpower!!!!
So I am organizing all my new stuff and while putting it away realized how truly giant my 6mm WW2 collection has become. I am assembling a table of my formations which I'll share in a couple weeks. I also have AWI and some Victorian era British infantry and some fertile crescent infantry of some sort.
Sorry no pics tonight. Have a boatload to get done.....I want all this stuff painted by the end of the year!!!!

Jagdpanzer 2 @ Printers
First run of the updated rules @ printer. I'll be working on the templates for the game.
In the meantime, here's more pics from the game with Steve last night.
Eine Kleine Jagdpanzer
Earlier this year I was approached by Steve Marsh about taking advantage of our relative proximity to one another to start playing weekly. Well our summer series kicked off with a bang tonight as we took a clash between the French and Germans from the Panzer Grenadier series 1940 component and used Jagdpanzer 2 rules.

Another great celebration of our independence and establishment as a nation of laws.

Pacificon (ConQuest) 2012
So given that I have most of Adler's American WW2 infantry it's high time I use them so my Pacificon game this year will be one of the Torch landings. I'll coordinate with Eric Lee who will be doing a fun battle from Operation Goalpost.

Deployment
With my good fortune I get initiative and 2 turns during the 6-8AM segment. I manage an adjusted DD4 My command battalion will be the armor battalion in the middle. I deploy my dragoons and my armored recon to my left and get them into position to spot formations. Meanwhile I move my command formation into the built up area along the Mehaine and to my right I send the other armor battalion to my right and will advance them together so they can provide mutual support.

No Gaming Tonight
I was totally ready to get through a couple turns when I happened across a cache of MST3K episodes and *had* to watch some. Gaming moved to Thursday night...

4th Panzer Division Kampfgruppe
Starting the Panzer Korps solo player component using "The Matrix" to set up the battle. I will be playing the mechanized cavalry of the French Army trying to identify the German units approaching Gembloux
